The first question that many gamers ask is how NVIDIA has improved the\u00a0RTX 3090 Ti<\/a>\u00a0to be the most powerful model of the entire Ampere RTX 30 generation.\u00a0same<\/b>\u00a0GA102<\/b>but it is called by a different name: GA102-350.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Same manufacturing process, die size, VRAM memory, bus... but, there are 2 fundamental touches: a memory\u00a0GDRR6X at 21 Gbps<\/b>\u00a0y\u00a0more CUDA Cores<\/b>although Tensor Cores and RT Cores have been increased very slightly.<\/p>\n

However, the most noteworthy evolution in terms of power is in\u00a0Streaming Multiprocessors<\/b>From 82 to 84, which adds up to 7 Graphics Processing Clusters and 42 additional Texture Processing Clusters, this is the most powerful GPU in the history of this platform!<\/p>\n

Another major improvement is the\u00a0frequency<\/b>:<\/p>\n

  • Basis<\/b>:\u00a01560<\/b>\u00a0MHz<\/b>\u00a0compared to 1395 MHz for the RTX 3090.<\/li>\n

    That said, you will see that the\u00a0models<\/b>\u00a0custom<\/b>\u00a0have much higher frequencies, especially the turbo: they reach the\u00a01950 MHz<\/b>\u00a0no problems.<\/p>\n

    All this feast of improvements is paid for with a currency called consumption: the\u00a0TDP<\/b>\u00a0of\u00a0increases 100W<\/b>. This has forced NVIDIA to recommend an 850W power supply to avoid undesirable power supply bottlenecks.<\/p>\n

    And you will see that the PCIe connection has changed because it comes with only a single port of\u00a012 pins<\/b>. Don't worry about this because the manufacturers have included a 3-header adapter inside the box.<\/p>\n

    Not only that, it's a bigger GPU (yet):\u00a070 mm thick<\/b>\u00a0which makes it a GPU of\u00a03.5 slots<\/b>. So, keep that in mind when you buy it because it won't fit in many PC boxes.<\/p>\n

    Finally, there is a big price difference:\u00a0500 difference<\/b>\u00a0($1499 vs $1999) compared to the RTX 3090. However, the NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti does not suffer from the price premium that the RTX 3090 has suffered, so you'll find original models more expensive than the vitaminised ones.<\/p>\n
